Live Well Omaha Kids is excited to lift up a national campaign from our friends at the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. #GirlsAre empowers girls and women to move more and praise each other’s athleticism.

Girls today are far less likely than boys to achieve recommended amounts of physical activity. Now is the time to change this!

Live Well Omaha Kids knows that #GirlsAre Bold. You can help encourage the girls in your life to be active – whatever that looks like  – whether it’s organizing a neighborhood walk, learning new dance moves in the living room, playing soccer at the park, or joining a sports team at the local YMCA.

Take action! Join the campaign and share your own empowering message here.

Share your photos of being active online using #GirlsAre and #LiveWellOmahaKids. Check out these awesome photos of Live Well Omaha staff and Board Chair celebrating their strength.

Live Well Omaha’s Board Chair Angie Frederick and her girls keep busy running, biking, and playing basketball – just to name a few of their favorite ways to be active as a family.

Chief Executive Officer Sarah Sjolie loves running – check out her victory pose after completing a 10K!

Operations and Finance Manager Courtney Brewer enjoys swimming, riding her bike, and yoga — as well as playing outdoors with her three kids.

Grants Manager and Live Well Omaha Kids Director Sheena Helgenberger enjoys anything outdoors like archery, hiking, and swimming with her daughter.

School Wellness Consultant Ashley Carroll and her three daughters are active walkers and runners – PLUS each daughter participates in her own sport: fencing, ice skating, and soccer.
