Hello! I am Claire Brown and I am excited to be joining Live Well Omaha Kids as their Youth Services Coordinator!
I have my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education from Concordia University Nebraska. I also have a masters in Education from Peru State University. Up until recently, I spent my entire career with Omaha Public Schools as a preschool teacher and know first-hand the importance of healthy kids in the classroom!
Children spend a great portion of their day at school and are highly influenced by the habits that they form there. By promoting healthy living within the school system we are setting children up for healthier lifestyle habits. We know that healthier children are happier, have better attendance, and do better in school
Last year I changed gears in order to have more time home with my daughter and am currently working as an adjunct professor of Early Childhood Education for Aspen University. I am excited to take my work back into the Omaha community and begin partnering with Live Well Omaha Kids to support area schools in their pursuits of wellness through Partners for Healthy Schools and the 5-4-3-2-1 Go!® campaign.
In my free time, I enjoy taking walks with my daughter, cooking with my husband, and writing.
I am looking forward to getting to know you and working together to help our Omaha kids Live Well!
